    Well Go USA Entertainment is offering SciFi Japan readers a chance to win THE THIEVES (???, Dodookdeul, 2012) -- the highest-grossing Korean film in history -- on Blu-ray. Director Dong-hoo Choi’s (WOOCHI, THE BIG SWINDLE, TAZZA: THE HIGH ROLLERS) high stakes heist film follows five thieves at the top of their game as they plan to plan to pull off a major Casino robbery. The all-star ensemble includes Gianna Jun (SNOW FLOWER AND THE SECRET FAN), Kim Hae-suk (THIRST), Kim Hye-su (MODERN BOY), Kim Soo Hyun (TV’s THE THIRD HOSPITAL), Kim Yun-seok (PUNCH), Angelica Lee (SLEEPWALKER), Lee Jung-Jae (THE ACCIDENTAL GANGSTER), Oh Dal-su (THE TRAFFICKERS), Kwok Cheung Tsang (THE BULLET VANISHES) and Simon Yam (IP MAN, IP MAN 2). THE THIEVES will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on February 12th.

    OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES and INFORMATION

    Prize: A. There are five (5) prizes, with each prize consisting of one (1) THE THIEVES Blu-ray. B. Prizes will be shipped to the contest winners so entrants must include a valid mailing address. This contest is only open to participants in the United States and Canada. C. In the event that a winner chooses not to (or cannot) accept a prize, he or she forfeits all claim to that prize. D. One entry per person. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitution of prizes allowed. Duration of contests: A. The "THE THIEVES Blu-ray" contest runs from February 10 until 11:59pm on February 20, 2013. How to enter: A. Submit your name, email address, and mailing address for the random drawing. B. Be sure to write "THE THIEVES Blu-ray" in the subject header of your email entry. SciFi Japan often runs multiple contests at the same time, so any entries without "THE THIEVES Blu-ray" in the subject header will be discarded. Determination of winners: A. Only contestants who have submitted the requested information will be entered in the final drawing. The first five randomly drawn eligible entries will be judged the winners for this contest. B. SciFi Japan is not responsible for typographical, electronic or other errors in Internet operation affecting the offering, outcome, administration of the contest or the announcement of prizes. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. C. The decision of Well Go USA and SciFi Japan is final.     Welcome to SciFi Japan, your source for news and information on science fiction, horror, fantasy and action movies, TV shows and videos.. from classics and old favorites, to upcoming productions and home video releases, to the odd and obscure titles you may never have heard of!

    The mainstream press has largely ignored Japanese tokusatsu (special effects) films, and when the genre has been covered by American news outlets and television the results were often inaccurate and condescending. On the other hand, there have been some excellent fan publications and websites devoted to these films, but Japanese studios have been extremely reluctant to deal with fan groups due to concerns over copyright infringement issues (some fans advocate and promote activities such as video bootlegging and unlicensed downloading). With no direct access to studio news and photos, fan reporting has often been forced to rely on secondhand info and rumors.

    What was missing was a professionally run English news outlet working directly with Japanese studios and filmmakers. So, in 2006, we brought together a talented group of published authors and reporters, film historians, reviewers, festival organizers, and movie makers with ties to the Japanese film industry to launch SciFi Japan (More information on our key contributors can be found here). The only English language news site press registered with all of the major Japanese studios and production companies, SciFi Japan is able to consistently bring accurate and exclusive information on Japanese films and shows to English speaking/reading fans worldwide.

    This site also receives updates from licensees and distributors of Japanese movies in North America, the UK and Australia, and we’re press registered with the major American studios as well. So, while our primary focus remains Japanese llive action and anime news we will rinclude international productions in our "International SciFii" and. "Asian Cinema" sections.

    And in 2012, we launched SciFi JAPAN TV, a web series featuring coverage of tokusatsu events and interviews with Japanese filmmakers. Each episode was shot on location in Japan exclusively for SciFi Japan by the Gaijin Channel production team.
