    ■ About Godzilla

The King of Monsters, whose name has resonated around the world ever since he first appeared.

The first film in the series, released in 1954, was an unprecedented smash in Japan, drawing 9.61 million viewers before becoming an international hit. Since then, more than 30 films have been produced in Japan alone, and the series’ cumulative domestic attendance has surpassed 100 million. To this day, Godzilla enjoys widespread popularity and overwhelming recognition among people of all ages and genders, captivating audiences not only in Japan but across the globe. GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan, 2023), the 70th anniversary commemorative movie released in 2023, became a massive hit in both Japan and North America, taking over movie theaters worldwide. Furthermore, the franchise's momentum shows no signs of slowing down, with the fifth Hollywood installment, GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE (released in 2024), exceeding 84.5 billion yen/$572 million in worldwide box office revenue. The highly anticipated latest Japanese film directed by Takashi Yamazaki, GODZILLA MINUS ZERO, is scheduled to be released in Japan on November 3, 2026, commemorated as "Godzilla Day."
