Distributor SRS Cinema has licensed North American home media rights to the critically acclaimed and fan adored kaiju film HOWL FROM BEYOND THE FOG (狭霧の國, Sagiri no Kuni, 2020). Written and directed by Daisuke Sato (GODZILLA MOTHRA KING GHIDORAH GIANT MONSTERS ALL OUT ATTACK, GODZILLA FINAL WARS, GAMERA THE BRAVE, ULTRAMAN MEBIUS & ULTRAMAN BROTHERS), the movie was made by using classic Japanese practical FX techniques including traditional bunraku puppetry, miniatures and suitmation, and features work by legendary Toho monster maker Keizō Murase (MOTHRA, KING KONG VS GODZILLA, FRANKENSTEIN CONQUERS THE WORLD, GAMERA).

HOWL FROM BEYOND THE FOG is set in a small village in Kyushu, Japan during the Meiji reformation era. A young boy named Izana and a blind woman named Takiri encounter the large monster Nebula, who since ancient times was feared as the god of lake, Amenosagiri.

While a rough cut of HOWL FROM BEYOND THE FOG was screened at last year’s G-Fest, SRS Cinema will be be releasing the full, complete final version of the film.

Preorders are scheduled to begin this September for Blu-ray and VHS Special Editions which will ship in late October/early November. A wide release on DVD and VOD is planned for 2021.
