-Abnormal Superhero Crimefighting takes a very weird turn in HK / FORBIDDEN SUPER HERO (HK ????, HK Hentai Kamen, 2013), the upcoming live action adaption of the comedic superhero manga series. The film will open April 6th at the Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo, with the nationwide release in Japan on April 13th. Keishu Ando`s Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen (??!!????, Kyuukyoku!! Hentai Kamen) manga followed the adventures of teenager Kyosuke Shikijo, who wears panties on his head -- and very little on the rest of his body -- as Abnormal Superhero. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from October, 1992 to November, 1993 and collected in 6 volumes from 1993 to 1995. Jump Square magazine revived the character in the Return of Hentai Kamen (?????????, Kaettekita Hentai Kamen) one-shot in May 2008, and Hentai Kamen S (????S) in April 2013. Actor Shun Oguri (AZUMI, SUKIYAKI WESTERN DJANGO, SPACE BROTHERS, SURELY SOMEDAY), a longtime fan of Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen, pitched the idea of adapting the manga for the big screen. Director Yuichi Fukuda (I`LL GIVE MY ALL... TOMORROW, ONE-POUND GOSPEL) -- who had worked with Oguri on the 2009 television series TOKYO DOGS (??DOGS?????????????) -- signed on to direct the film and co-write the screenplay with Oguri. Shun Oguri also pushed for Ryohei Suzuki (SURELY SOMEDAY, HANKYU RAILWAYS - A 15 MINUTE MIRACLE, GATCHAMAN) to play the lead role of Kyosuke Shikijo. In order to achieve the heroic physique of the character, Suzuki worked for over a year to decrease his body fat and add 15kg (approximately 33 lbs) of muscle. Rounding out the cast are Fumika Shimizu (KAMEN RIDER FOURZE), Tsuyoshi Muro (SURELY SOMEDAY), Takashi Tsukamoto (OUTRAGE, KISARAZU CAT`S EYE), Yoshinori Okada (KAMIKAZE GIRLS, KISARAZU CAT`S EYE) and Nana Katase (DEATH NOTE II: THE LAST NAME, 20TH CENTURY BOYS trilogy).
In HK / FORBIDDEN SUPER HERO, Kyosuke Shikijo (Ryohei Suzuki) is a promising star of the high school kempo club. He is in love with Aiko Himeno (Fumika Shimizu), a transfer student and everyone`s idol. When Aiko is taken hostage by bank robbers one day, Kyosuke is desperate to save her. He manages to sneak into the bank, but does not have a mask to disguise himself so he puts a pair of panties from the girls` changing room over his face. In that instant, Kyosuke transforms into Abnormal Superhero. He saves Aiko, and Abnormal Superhero is born. Kyosuke`s sense of justice comes from his father, a detective who died in the line of duty. He gets his perverted blood from his mother, who was a sadomasochist. When he wears panties on his head, the combined DNA inside Kyosuke explodes and awakens his latent ability, changing him into a hero with super power. Kyosuke is distressed by this and unable to confess to anyone, not even his beloved Aiko... The pair starts dating, each harboring their own secrets. Then the most powerful enemy, Black Abnormal Superhero, attacks. It`s crunch time, but Kyosuke is unable to transform in front of Aiko. Black Abnormal Superhero abducts Aiko.
