LUPIN THE IIIRD: ZENIGATA AND THE TWO LUPINS Update - New Trailer, Pics and Voice Actor Revealed!

TMS Entertainment and Wright Film have announced that the first trailer and new images have been released for LUPIN THE IIIRD: ZENIGATA AND THE TWO LUPINS (LUPIN THE IIIRD 銭形と2人のルパン, LUPIN THE IIIRD Zenigata to 2-ri no Rupan), a hard-hitting short action film starring Inspector Zenigata, which is the prequel to upcoming theatrical feature film, LUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE: THE IMMORTAL BLOODLINE (LUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE 不死身の血族, LUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE Fujimi no Ketsuzoku).

Both ZENIGATA AND THE TWO LUPINS and IMMORTAL BLOODLINE are directed by Takeshi Koike, who has directed all of the connected "Lupin the IIIrd Universe" series and specials from LUPIN THE THIRD: THE WOMAN CALLED FUJIKO MINE (LUPIN the Third -峰不二子という女- Rupan za Saado Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna, 2012) to LUPIN THE IIIRD: ZENIGATA AND THE TWO LUPINS (LUPIN THE IIIRD 銭形と2人のルパン, LUPIN THE IIIRD Zenigata to 2-ri no Rupan, 2025). Koike has been highly praised both in Japan and abroad for the visual style of his films, including REDLINE (レッドライン, 2010), and THE ANIMATRIX: WORLD RECORD (アニマトリックスワールド・レコード, Animatorikkusu Wārudo Rekōdo, 2003), a segment of the THE MATRIX anthology animation film.

The voice cast includes series regulars Koichi Yamadera (Inspector Zenigata), Kanichi Kurita as Lupin III, Akio Otsuka (Daisuke Jigen), Daisuke Namikawa (Goemon Ishikawa), and Miyuki Sawashiro (Fujiko Mine).

Also revealed was that veteran voice actor Kenyu Horiuchi is playing the streaming movies's antagonist, the mysterious fake Lupin! Horiuchi commented that he is happy to be taking part in ZENIGATA AND THE TWO LUPINS, saying, "I think this will be my masterpiece!"

LUPIN THE IIIRD: ZENIGATA AND THE TWO LUPINS will be available for unlimited viewing on several streaming services in Japan (see list below) starting June 20th. In addition, the "Lupin the IIIrd Universe" series will be available for unlimited viewing on Amazon Prime Japan starting June 27th. Two older Lupin III titles, LUPIN III: THE LEGEND OF THE GOLD OF BABYLON (ルパン三世バビロンの黄金伝説, Rupan Sansei Babiron no Ōgon Densetsu, 1985) and LUPIN III: THE CONSPIRACY OF THE FUUMA CLAN (ルパン三世風魔一族の陰謀, Rupan Sansei Fūma Ichizoku no Inbō, 1987)will be available on streaming for the first time this month.

■ First LUPIN THE IIIRD: ZENIGATA AND THE TWO LUPINS Trailer

Zenigata, filled with rage at the unprecedented terrorist bombing, resolves to catch Lupin III, the man believed to be the perpetrator. Meanwhile, Lupin meets the cold-hearted fake Lupin, who looks just like him in both face and appearance. The villain asks Lupin III, "Why are you stealing?"

■ Story

Detective Zenigata encounters a terrorist bombing at an airport in the Russian Federation and is surprised to discover that the culprit's face is that of Lupin III. He soon loses sight of him, but discovers another "Lupin" at the station and captures him on the train, but allows him to escape with the help of Daisuke Jigen.

Meanwhile, Fujiko Mine has infiltrated a circus troupe and become a trapeze artist, beloved by Supreme Leader Braelin. With the disarmament treaty parade fast approaching, Karaskov of the National Security Committee determines that Lupin is a terrorist and a spy for the United States of Arka and pursues him, but Zenigata has doubts. Then, when Lupin is cornered by the National Security Committee in the capital, Zenigata stands in his way, believing in his innocence.

But at that moment, a new explosion strikes Zenigata...
