Aeon Entertainment Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Nobuyuki Fujiwara), which operates 99 "Aeon Cinema" theaters nationwide, will upgrade its IMAX Digital Theater at Aeon Cinema Odaka (Address: 1F, Aeon Mall Odaka, 2-450 Minami Odaka, Midori-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture), which has been in operation since 2016, to an "IMAX With Laser Theater" starting Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (National Holiday).

IMAX With Laser Theaters have replaced 2K systems with an innovative 4K laser projection system. This delivers bright, crisp, ultra-high-resolution images and rich color reproduction. Furthermore, the latest 12-channel sound system takes the powerful sound unique to the big screen to the next level, providing audiences with an even more immersive viewing experience than ever before.
This upgrade will coincide with the release of GODZILLA MINUS ZERO (ゴジラ-0.0/ゴジラマイナスゼロ, Gojira Mainasu Zero), opening in Japan on November 3rd, the first Japanese film to be “Filmed For IMAX.” In the upgraded IMAX Laser theaters, audiences can enjoy the power and realism that only a movie theater can provide.
In addition, the IMAX screen at Aeon Cinema Odaka features “individual seats with armrests on both sides,” each equipped with its own armrest on the left and right. This ensures personal space for each guest without having to share an armrest with the person next to them. Attendees can relax and focus on the movie without worrying about the person next to them.

The “IMAX With Laser Theater” uses an innovative 4K laser projection system to deliver vivid, bright, and high-contrast ultra-high-resolution images on the signature large screen that only IMAX can provide.
Furthermore, the state-of-the-art 12-channel sound system achieves a dynamic range and precision that surpass previous standards. The immersive sound fills the entire theater, drawing the audience into the world of the movie with overwhelming sense of realism.
*The 3D glasses used in previous IMAX Digital Theater screenings are not available for use.
*The IMAX viewing surcharge will be adjusted from +400 yen to +600 yen.
