Tarzan is not one of my favorite films from 2016, like I posted a few pages back, the wife wanted to see it. However I appreciated that it did not retread the tired old origin story yet again. There's literally dozens of Tarzan films, if you want an origin story, they are not in short supply. I don't see it as trendy. I *kind* of see it as...there are so many films in existence, if you know anything about the story, you will see it, if you don't care you wont. If you want to be a new fan, you wont start with this one. My gripes as stated before came mostly from the overuse of CG.
Rogue One may not be as financially successful because it did little if anything to set up any explanation of anything that was going on. Disney knows, if you are not a Star Wars fan by now, you wont see this film, if you are, you will know whats going on. Unlike 30 years ago when the films were not readily available, I cant imagine Rogue One would by ANYONES first Star Wars film. Parents would have shown kids at least the original Trilogy if not all 7 films before walking into see this one.
If this Tarzan was anyone's first exposure to those stories, they did not do it right. Tarzan and The Jungle Book have almost nothing in common, one only predates the other by 18 years, and both have been around for over a century.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.
