Fathom Events has been sponsoring special showings of older movies for a few years now. It seems almost every time I go to the movies, I see ads for showings of Top Gun, Ferris Bueller, etc... etc... and of course Ghostbusters.
After seeing Civil War however... my friends and I discussed the latest showings of the original Ghostbusters (throughout May) in order to promote the new film. Sure it is a good way to promote. But then we thought... Are the fans who are willing to see the original in theaters (that they already probably have on DVD & Blu Ray at home)
really going to be drawn to like the new film? --Do you
really want the classic beloved film fresh in everyone's minds as they go to see this new film?... could possibly make things worse. Sure...even minded critics are going to say you cant compare the two films, but that's what everyone is inevitably going to do.
If the film does go bad... like 2015 F4 bad. I cant wait to see the inevitable feminist comments "Well I guess it was just too intelligent and ahead of its time...the world is not ready yet..."

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.
