Ghostbusters is (and has always been) an ensemble cast and 3/4 cast members are perfect for that. They should be able to play off each other well.
Feig and McCarthy have been key to each other's box office success, however this will not be an R-rated raunch fest, which is where Feig has shown most of his breakout talent. The question is, as a director can Feig balance the cast and humor.
I understand some of the disappointment. I lament Dane Cook, Pauly Shore, Kevin James, or any number of comedians I find unfunny in starring roles, but this isn't a McCarthy vehicle, its an ensemble... Its up to Feig to make that ensemble work
