Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) [2014]

This is the only 2014 Best Picture nominee I've seen and I quite enjoyed it. It's very kooky and sometimes the characters/ actors say things that are a little obvious (which I think is intentional), but there are very human moments scattered throughout that makes you feel for these crazy people. Michael Keaton definitely carries the movie and I think it's great he's getting back in the spotlight. The movie seems to make fun of modern day blockbusters, but considering how 'prestigious' the characters try to be I don't think an exact side is ever taken.

I've been wanting to see this for a few weeks now. Had I not been misled to think it was a movie of the old cartoon I would have seen it in the theater.

I loved this movie. So much. Definitely something I'll be picking up on blu-ray.

Kain, how were you convinced this was about the old Birdman cartoon?

This movie is great, though I'm still trying to come up with a satisfactory answer for the ending...

I thought it was decent. I am glad to have seen it and the acting and cinematography were phenomenal, but as a story, it was subpar.
