My comment got EXACTLY the sort of reaction I expected. Even more so than TK, sometimes this board can be so predictable.

You guys are ridiculous if you honestly think I was serious with a statement like that. That said, I could care less about anything Star Wars related these days. It's gone in a direction I have little interest in.

I can't wait for the disappointment to hit next December. It's going to be epic, and really, people should see it coming--especially after the last batch of movies from Lucas and Abrams.

I'm actually really excited now. The teaser already looks more interesting visually than pretty much all of the prequels.

It's a really great teaser. It harkens back to the Kurosawa-inspired visuals of A New Hope, especially the opening shot which seems to be inspired by Hidden Fortress.

That trailer honestly didn't do anything for me.. Seeing Luke and friends should have been the route for the first teaser I think..

Plus, its kind of hard to get into this when were told the books I've read don't mean anything. I mean, I understand this route was probably best. Idk.... Nothing in the trailer did anything for me, and I'm confused what route this trilogy is going..

Just wasn't anything story wise in here for me. Just saw a bunch of shots. Was missing something for me. Its VERY early though, and I'm sure wait will be worth it.

edit: I'm tired so my sentences don't make sense... Lol.

It's an announcement/teaser trailer, which I was totally just expecting just basically a the title and a bit of the theme for, it's perfect. It doesn't reveal anything other than that a new Star Wars movie is coming out. But it does look a bunch of second unit b-roll.

So who else hates the prequels? You do realize without George Lucas star wars wouldn't exist right? Just saying. :D

One thing I noticed was that satellite dish looking thing that was knocked off the Falcon inside the new Death Star in ROTJ hasn't been replaced yet.

The teaser is alright, not much going on with it as would have been nice though.

A few thoughts:

1. I can't quite put my finger on why, but the shocked/afraid stormtrooper in the beginning of the teaser makes me think more of Spaceballs than Star Wars -- something about the way the opening shots of the trailer are presented just seems humorous for some reason.

2. TIE Fighters in atmospheric combat with the Millennium Falcon. I hope this is just something put together for the trailer, the shots of the aerial combat would make a lot more sense if it took place in outer space. TIE Fighters would be pretty terrible in atmospheric combat, sharp turns would put a lot of stress on the solar panels possibly even causing them to shear off.

3. The maybe-Sith's lightsabre with "guard" seems to have a look that is like fire. Take a look at the points on the main blade and "guard" blades. By design, a lightsabre confines an energy beam to create the blade, and if the blade appears to have tongues of flame that confinement may be weak. This could make for a lightsabre that uses power at an increased rate or a lightsabre that is less effective in combat against another lightsabre. There's probably an in-story explanation for why [hasty construction with less than ideal parts, it's old an in need of repair, etc.] but without said explanation it just seems like not very well thought out design idea. IE It's as if someone said "You know what would make a lightsabre cooler? Put flames on it."
