The teaser is alright, not much going on with it as would have been nice though.
A few thoughts:
1. I can't quite put my finger on why, but the shocked/afraid stormtrooper in the beginning of the teaser makes me think more of Spaceballs than Star Wars -- something about the way the opening shots of the trailer are presented just seems humorous for some reason.
2. TIE Fighters in atmospheric combat with the Millennium Falcon. I hope this is just something put together for the trailer, the shots of the aerial combat would make a lot more sense if it took place in outer space. TIE Fighters would be pretty terrible in atmospheric combat, sharp turns would put a lot of stress on the solar panels possibly even causing them to shear off.
3. The maybe-Sith's lightsabre with "guard" seems to have a look that is like fire. Take a look at the points on the main blade and "guard" blades. By design, a lightsabre confines an energy beam to create the blade, and if the blade appears to have tongues of flame that confinement may be weak. This could make for a lightsabre that uses power at an increased rate or a lightsabre that is less effective in combat against another lightsabre. There's probably an in-story explanation for why [hasty construction with less than ideal parts, it's old an in need of repair, etc.] but without said explanation it just seems like not very well thought out design idea. IE It's as if someone said "You know what would make a lightsabre cooler? Put flames on it."
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
