17. Die, Monster, Die! (1965)
18. The Wicker Man (1973)
19. The Wolf Man (2010)

Watched my old fav Die, Monster, Die! I watched the Wicker Man for the first time. Wow, such a creepy movie. I'm glad it lived up to the hype.
I know the Wolf Man is flawed, but I really enjoy this movie. *shrug*

Well we finished the original timeline to the Friday series yesterday. All we have to left to watch is the remake, which is the movie that got me into the franchise, so we'll see how that goes.

What would you guys say is the best of General Mills' monster cereals? I've never eaten any, but I always get a kick out of seeing the boxes show up every year.

Keep in mind: no Fruit Brute or Yummy Mummy this year.

Frankenberry. BTW, I actually took all five of the vintage boxes from last year and framed the covers.

Anyway, I finished the Friday the 13th series and also watched the first season of Tales from the Crypt.

A friend posted this awhile back on facebook.

With all these horror shows popping up (Walking Dead, Z Nation, American Horror Story, Bates Motel kinda), I'm mildly surprised no one's tried to reanimate that corpse (it's nearly 4am and I tried my best at the puns but... eh).

Surely some effects house would kill to make a new Crypt Keeper animatronic.

Heck they could just do one of the other EC Comics (Entertaining Comic comcs?) like the Vault of Horror or just take on the whole kitten caboodle and turn it into a multi genre show based on any of the EC comics (Weird Fantasy, Weird Science, Vault of Horror, Haunt of Fear). Although MADs been done twice now and pure humor so it might not gel with the terror/suspense/horror/fantasy stuff.

20. Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
21. The Old Dark House (1932)

Man, last year I watched Bram Stoker's Dracula and hated it. I didn't this year, I still don't love it nearly as much as I did as a teenager. I think if Keanu and Winona weren't in the movie it'd be 10 times better.

The Old Dark House was fun, it never quite lived up to the first 30 or 40 minutes, not entirely. It's fine though, I just like getting to watch these people act. I love the lack of score and the intense presence of sound. Such a creepy old family.

We just watched the latest THoH episode. It was at least better than the last few. I enjoyed the Kubrick episode and there were some good moments in The Others. The first segment was absolute horse crap though.

22. House of Frankenstein (1944)
It feels like it's better than Wolfman meets Frankenstein, but it's still kind of off. I think it's hilarious that Dracula is just out by the road somewhere, WAITING.
Karloff is fun to watch, but nobody else matches up to him. Maybe Chaney, but he always feels like he's just treading water and doing the same bit with variations on the same lines from the last half of The Wolf Man. Which isn't his fault really, it's just what they've boiled his character down to. I still think, because of the multi-monster formula that this is the most fun I've had since Son of Frankenstein. I believe that if I had seen the trailer and gone to see this movie I'd have been super disappointed to find out that Dracula never faces off against Frankenstein's monster or the Wolf Man.

This weekend i added 'Return of the Killer Tomatoes' and 'Thale' to the list...

Thale is a Norwegian(?... Scandinavian) film about a folklore creature known as the Huldra. it's a pretty slow burn film, but it's eerie and intriguing. I think fans of the original 'Let the Right One In' will probably enjoy it. One of the main characters spends the majority of the film nude, but the nudity never really feels gratuitous.. it kind of adds to the vulnerability of the character. I liked the film and it left me wanting to know more about Scandinavian folklore.

Adding Pandorum to my list, what an excellent movie complete with a very unexpected twist ending.
