Watched Nymphomaniac vol I last night. I have to say, it wasn't nearly as graphic as I was expecting. I sort of went into it thinking it was going to basically be porn for 2 hours. But it held back a lot more than I would expect from Lars Van Trier. That being said, its like most of his films - bleak, depressing, heavy-handed allegories. I'm curious to see how it ends in vol II. Its not entirely the most exciting film I've watched in a while, but I certainly find it interested. Highlight for me was the chapter involving Uma Thurman, she plays a wife who is being left by her husband by our leading character - and she goes crazy. Its darkly humorous, but I found myself laughing at that whole scenario.
If you've enjoyed Lars Van Trier at all, you'll like it. If you find his movies to be boring or offensive, this won't win you over.
