Gigan's waist looks much better in these images, and there's the added bonus of having full-body front shots of the figure.

http://allxza.ninja-web.net/hobby/shmon ... eview.html

Incidentally, one of the problems this Gigan has is one shared by a few other Bandai figures - the shoulderpads stick out to the sides instead of folding over the shoulders. Both US vinyls do this as do all the Japanese Bandais and the Banpresto, perhaps to facilitate articulation and easier assembly. The Chogokin takes the even odder route of compensating for the shoulder articulation by having the armor hug much closer to the neck instead, which further beefs up the look of the torso. The layered look of the MonsterArts shoulderpads seems to be the closest Bandai's gotten to getting it right. The only realistic large-scale FW Gigan vinyl that gets it right is the X-Plus, so X-Plus collectors rejoice!

The teeth look less conical now, but they're not nearly sharp enough and Gigan went through one too many teeth brightenings. They should have been closer to the beak color.

Gigan's flaws are there but are small enough to accept and still purchase. Preferably when Gigan is ten or fifteen bucks cheaper though.

Great find there Baltan. I doubt it'll change anyone's mind though, knowing how divisive this line can get. I should be getting mine tomorrow. The teeth are still a bit too bright, but I can deal with that. Everything else looks really great.

Yeah, I saw those pics earlier and he does look A LOT better in those than that one picture. The teeth still look a little too fat though, but not slack jawed.

It was either really bad photos, or QC issue. I have seen more pics online and the only consistent problem I see is the teeth are too white. Everything else looks really nice.

Why has nobody pictured him with a blade and a chainsaw arm? That's how I'll pose 'em if I ever get one.

Is it dumb that I want two so I can display one with the claws and one with the chainsaw hands?

Alrighty, I got mine today. Overall satisfied with it, but as I expected those teeth are too damn bright. I dulled mine down with real touch Gundam marker grey, then going over it with the blending real touch marker, and rubbing the excess with a q-tip. Articulation is pretty good especially at the tail. The arm swivel was a bit tight but it wasn't anything a hot air dryer couldn't fix. The segmentation of the tail is weird, but it poses really nice. The chainsaw's blades are nice and rubbery. The different heads and changing them are pretty easy to do. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. I'll post more comparison pics later this week.

Looks good. I think I'm gonna get Kiryu or Mire-Goji next though. I'm holding off on any new purchases till next month since I dropped a lot on Bandai Godzilla 2014 stuff.

Can you post some pictures of the knees? They look like the kneepad could be adjusted?

Courtesy of 2chan, new Godzilla accessory sets! Both are set for a September release. One is solely for effects parts, including a blast with an explosion at the end of it and what looks to be another redeco of the existing Godzilla breath effect. The other is all about G-Force, which even seems to include all three versions of the Super X. EDIT: Or just the Super X-III, but I can live with that.

Too small to really see, but I hope Bluefin brings those over as I would buy them for a good price. At least now I don't have to bother hunting down the original accessory pack, just the Garuda.

I believe it's only the Super X-3 that's being released in this set. The sets are called Super Weapons Effect 2 and Corresponding Effects 2.
