I think throwing in "some form of Mothra" (minus the fairies) would be pretty easy seeing as how the Mutos are pretty much big bugs anyway. But, I have a suspicion, or fear, that we'll be seeing more original monsters if any sequels are made, perhaps loosely inspired by other classic Godzilla foes but not "the real deal". The fact that this movie, which could be the launch of a new franchise, chose to go with homebrew opponents kind of sets the tone for what I'd expect in the future. I dunno, flying-muto may turn out to be kind of Megaguirus-inspired, but I guess we'll see.
But just for myself, I'm kind of tired of Mothra. I might be about to get lynched for saying this, but she really doesn't do all that much and I really think she's been overused. They would have to ditch all the "protector of the earth" backstory which leaves a big bug, and this movie has that covered. And as much as I like Mechagodzilla I wouldn't mind taking a pass on that one too. I've had plenty of Mechagodzilla for a while.
I'm also skeptical that Ghidorah will be used... seems to be that they're going for a quasi-realistic tone (even though of course it's not remotely) and I just can't see him being shoehorned in believably. I think something "inspired by" Hedorah or Biollante might be more likely. Or simply another big reptile... such as Anguirus. I think he deserves the shout out.
