Ugh. I guess there are still people complaining about this. Faith or not, it was silly to expect anything until December at the earliest. It's like they've never followed the production of any other film before.

Hey, back up a second. I'm not sure why people were so fast to dismiss what Godzilla 2000 was saying.

LP was VERY quick to pull the leaked images of the new Godzilla head a few weeks back. That photoshopped mess uses pretty much the same image. THAT very well could be the reason LP had that new image pulled. It might not actually be an official image. I actually COULD be some dumbass fan photoshop being passed off as something official. There's nothing there we haven't already seen.

Here's the big question I have for everyone who truly believe this is real.

Why?

What about this image compels you to feel that way? Does the badly photoshopped body not raise a few red flags?

I dont consider hastily made mock-ups by some shmuck at the very bottom of the company ladder to be "legit." This isnt even "slap it on a toy box and call it a day" worthy. Honestly, this shouldnt even be a thing.

Probably just a poorly made image if it is a box design. most who believe its real do so because its being taken down.

Here is the interview with Seamus McGarvey → http://www.pushing-pixels.org/2013/10/0 ... arvey.html
What the hell? We've known since 10/3 that Godzilla has flashbacks to 1954?
Exactly what I'm thinkin!

Destroysall, thank you very much for posting that article because I had no idea the 54 film was going to be referenced, though I'm even more excited now than before. Sure 54 has been a prequel to every GODzilla film thusfar. But the ZILLA film GINO had no reference to it, nor did the DeBont script, so I think most assumed a US one would assume audiences are unfamiliar with it and need to start anew. I'm glad they saw the value in including either it or a reference to it. I'm glad Takarada may have been brought on board for more than just his good looks and to please core fans, but to establish a link in the continuity perhaps.
I have Arri Alexa camera, and particularly in dark sets it allows me to light in a totally different way. For instance, on “Godzilla” we did a lot of stuff that was at the very lowest register, and the director kept encouraging me to be brave with it. Had I been shooting on film, I wouldn’t have been gone quite so dark. But that gave me confidence, witnessing it on screen and seeing how far you can take it, because you see exactly what you’re getting.
Once again confirms there will be several night scenes, guess you'll want a tv that achieves the darkest blacks.
On “The Avengers” Janek Sirrs was the VFX supervisor, and on “Godzilla”, which is a very different movie visually it was Jim Rygiel. Their work treads on mine, so we have to go in hand in hand, because there’s so much lighting that happens in the CG world. First they start with pre-vis, and the die is cast then in terms of the photographic style and certain sequences, so I like to get involved in that. These kids are drawing the pre-vis CGI get carried away. There’s a tendency to go videogame-style with their visual approach, and if I can be involved at that early stage, I can make it cinematic and point out shots that are unachievable or very expensive to achieve. These kids just make the camera hysterical.
Good to hear that the cgi was supervised early on by someone well versed in practicality. Not disappointed to hear this is being shot in 2d. I saw thor 2 in 3d not by choice, and yeah Im done. THat was dolby, I normally hit imax if Im doing 3d but missed the show. Typically the imax glasses are recycled and unclean. But the dolby's are too dark and obscure things. So its lose lose in theaters IMO. I wont bother with it for Godzilla, at least not on the first show.

The design is....good. Not too bad, if it is real. Basically the design I've had in my head for a while.

I put this up in hater heaven....you know the site...I'll probably get roasted...LOL

I would rather get a shorter more robust and focused marketing push than some long drawn out let's show the whole movie in trailer form so many movies do today. It used to be that trailers were mostly in theaters and some TV spots which made them more of an event and mysterious.

Now we get websites for trailer release dates, trailers on the web we can break down and analyze frame by frame and damn near construct a movie's high spots ourselves. I believe and this is my opinion that they will show some restraint here so that people will actually PAY to see what happens. Movies did just fine when trailers were seen at the theater only because still today word of mouth trumps millions of advertising dollars every time.

Recent proof was Gravity, I saw the teaser at Comic Con 2013 TEASER just 4 months before release and only a big Ad push a month before and it did great, and I've yet to see 1 Hobbit trailer on TV but people are talking about it.

Look I want this to succeed as bad as anyone, but with our hyper focused and myopic society, let people be drawn into a dramatic science fiction thriller because a brainless summer popcorn blockbuster in the vein of Transformers this is not.
