This article is a long-winded, roundabout way of saying that abnormal growth among silkworms exposed to Fukushima contaminated soil may be the inspiration for "Muto"
http://cosbravo13.wix.com/godzillafansu ... -news/crss

It kinda makes sense, that the multi-legged thing we see would be the larval stage of "Winged Muto" from the toy description. Not sure where/how the Spider-thing would fit in with that, but hey, there it is. Some conjecture, for sure, but somewhat interesting.

To me, the idea that Legendary has already made "Janjira" a part of their shoot is confirmation that Fukushima is going to be an inspiration for this film...

I found the silkworm stuff to be the more interesting part of that article.

Tssst silkworms, what are they making? Soft underpants or somethin? Tssst.

I kind of like that interpretation of the multi-armed monster they have there. I wonder if we get one monster that changes throughout the movie, or two separate ones that change? SO MANY QUESTIONS AND POSSIBILITIES! WEEEEEEEEE!

Even though this is speculation it would be a cool take on Mothra, since Mothra is too soft and fluffy for this kind of movie. Have you ever seen some of these beetles that turn into moths? Saw one in a parking garage once with really large pinchers and we gently placed a knife between the pinchers and it snapped shut on the blade and echoed throughout the parking garage. Unf.

Well the Dobson fly is one of them. Not really a beetle but it is a monster.

(shivers) Dobson flies... (shivers again). I was actually thinking of those after glancing at the article. First time I ever saw one, I didn't know what the hell it was. I was cleaning around the building I worked at at the time, and I saw it clinging to the wall. I hit it with my broom and it didn't react. It just leaned its head back and looked at me, as if to say "what? Bring it."
Nope nope nope nope nope.

The one pictured above is a female. The males are even worse: their pincers are so long they cross over each other:

Hahah, that's perfect.

So from this we can surmise Godzilla will peace the heck out if his opponent is a bug.

I hope that whatever monsters we get have some real screen presence. Maybe that is a no-brainer, but I'd like Godzilla to have a rival or even feel outmatched during the film. I liked GMK, but I really disliked that aspect of the film, especially how Ghidorah looked and behaved compared to how powerful Godzilla was. I know that was the feel Kaneko wanted (especially in the original story with Varan and Ang), but that's not my preference.

I dunno...
I don't think that's a no-brainer. I think it's a possibility, but the other possibility is that Godzilla is found (or not), then one of or some of the monsters other than Godzilla attack a city, then Godzilla shows up and shows everyone what a REAL monster is.

I'm more apt to believe that the first Godzilla vs. Muto encounter will be akin to Godzilla vs. Baragon from GMK, with Godzilla utterly dominating the enemy creature (probably something like the airport scene reported in the second Comic-Con trailer).

And the final encounter, I'm betting, would feature a Muto that's totally mutated or evolved to the point of being just as dangerous and big as Godzilla himself.

I do believe the first battle will be the airport scene between the crabby muto and Godzilla and I do believe it will be a short fight.

I also believe that the final battle will be one where Godzilla nearly buys it only to rally and win. That's a bit formulaic for a Godzilla movie but as I've stated, they do that similar to a Hulk Hogan wrestling match, the one you cheer for (in this case even though Godzilla is the anti-hero presumably, they want you to cheer for him) fights valiantly, then becomes subdued only to dig deep and show what they really are made of. A king may fall but never quits and never surrenders.

I've been thinking too about how to get a good reveal in a trailer and though I don't think this will happen I like this idea:

We see bits of the battle between Muto and Godzilla but only get a clear picture of the Muto, bits and pieces of Godzilla. Then at the end of the trailer. the military, perhaps after the small Muto is presumably stopped, turn their attention to Godzilla and light him up....through the dark and smoke we see the missile blasts and when they fade the light of the fire reveals Godzilla, unharmed....(This is not GINO clue 1) He looks like Godzilla to the layperson (This is not GINO clue 2) he lets out a pissed off roar and returns fire with a heat beam blast that obliterates the military (This is not GINO clue 3) cut to black and returns with one last frightening roar...end of trailer.

That should end any discussion (at least with the average person) that this is a real Godzilla movie and not GINO. The "fandom" will debate and fight and bicker but that's not the concern for profit and sales, it's the general public we need interest from. Period.
You must show no mercy, nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you... for your greatness will silence them all!
