I didn't know they still had sneak previews. I thought that died out in the late 90s!

Yup, they still do test audiences. :)

I've never been fortunate enough to get into a full viewing but I have been in a few studies that featured numerous clips and info from upcoming films and was given a chance to vote on editing decisions and throw down general opinions on what I'd seen.

I know there are still test audiences, but don't you remember "sneak previews?" These are special screenings that were advertised and they would happen before the film. They were test screenings that were advertised so anybody could go... remember back in the day when trailers would say "In theaters [this date], sneak preview [that date]?"

I think they died off when advanced reviews became so prevalent with the internet and what not.

[quote="Glen Schaefer"]Elysium, the long-awaited follow-up to Vancouver director Neill Blomkamp’s District 9, is all but done now, awaiting a theatrical release in August.

“It’s kind of weird that it sits on a shelf and doesn’t come out until August 9th but I think a summer release is fantastic for the film,â€

I kind of had forgotten about this. Honestly much more excited for this than Man of Steel or Iron Man 3 or Star Trek (or Oblivion, World War Z, Wolverine, 300, Lick-Ass 2, Riddick, Sin City 2. but that all should go without saying I think).
