I've wanted to fully respond to king_ghidorah's dislike of the Tintin film for a while. I've had a response ruminating in my head, but had trouble coming up with a defense because I was a bit disappointed by the film as a whole myself.
But worst movie ever? Peshaw!
(SPOILERS)
Tintin had a likable cast of characters (Tintin is intentionally a blank slate, his supporting cast are the "characters" in the full sense of the word), great adventure set-pieces, a treasure hunt (yay!), and a visual style that managed to make a motion capture animated film look decent! Captain Haddock's flashbacks were the highlight, because it seemed more like past-life regression to his ancestor instead of simply recalling a story and I thought that was unique and cool.
The films biggest flaw is in the execution of the finale, which is in my opinion totally botched. There are several climactic sequences that feel like finales that keep happening one after another, making for a confusing affair that kills all the nice momentum and good will that was built up over the course of the film. It's like a javelin thrower who fumbles at the last moment and spikes the thing into the ground. They don't even actually find the treasure at the end! You don't not find the treasure at the end of a treasure hunt story! Narrative 101 Spielberg!
That being said, I enjoyed the film over all. Will see the (hopefully greater) sequel, and will investigate the original comics that I've always put off reading.
