Finished MM9-I liked it a lot. It does some pretty novel things regarding kaiju and I like the science involved in how they exist. The book's a little thin on human characters but that just means more time to focus on questions regarding the kaiju themselves. Fasinating and worth the read.

This week I'm starting Book Two of Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing :)

Thirteen Reasons went on the back burner. I'm amidst a sea of spoilers on the homefront concerning The Hunger Games, so I finally read Catching Fire, the second book.
Meh. It could have been done so much better. Bleach.

Charcuterie by Michael Ruhlman and Brian Polcyn

I probably won't ever make my own prosciutto, but I conceivably could with this book.

I loved Hardcore Zen and Musashi. I've considered picking up Taiko and that author's other books but didn't really know anything about them...

Musashi is indeed long and slow in pace, but it's a very immersive reading experience. It really gets you caring about the characters and what the circumstances mean for them. And, of course, Yoshikawa is brilliant when it comes to action. Taiko is very much cut from the same cloth, telling the story of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of the key figures responsible for the unification of Japan after years of civil strife. You can find good used copies of this stuff at places like half.com and Amazon Marketplace.

I haven't started reading yet, but a family member gave me Michio Kaku's Hyperspace after learning of my recent fascination with astronomy. If I get time, I'll try and start it this week.

Minnesota's Golden Age of Wrestling by George Schire

A very detailed history of Verne Gagne and the AWA's cards in the Twin Cities. This was the first wrestling I ever saw over 30 years ago, and it's a nice history.
