Got the set today. I can confirm both discs are region-free but subtitles on the extra features are out of sync, at least during the final "Gamera 3" docs and deleted scenes

Well, best thing for us to do is all write to Mill Creek telling them we'll buy the hell out of G3 again if they fix the subs in the future.

I mentioned on it that as soon as they fix the subtitles I'll buy the release.

I'm more concerned with the subs on the extras as opposed to the movie since those aren't dubbed in English, I can always watch the movie dubbed the extras not so much.

I got an e-mail back, and it was largely a cut-and-paste response written for people who disliked the subs on the first DVD: signs and televisions not being subtitled. The e-mail said this was a conscious decision to make the subtitles read smoother and not clutter up the screen when there was a lot of stuff going on in a scene.

I sent a reply clarifying that I wasn't complaining about those translation decisions, but rather several bona-fide subtitle errors on the disc.
