No. No. No. No. No.
A remake of Rocky Horror is a go-nowhere endeavor. The film has a cult following that spans generations, probably the biggest of any cult flick out there. (My mom went to midnight showings of it in the '70s just as I have today.) A remake is absolutely pointless because the original still sees nationwide arthouse screenings on a weekly basis and has for 33 years now, and it will continue to do so for decades to come. I've been worrying for a while that some studio would try to remake this, but now I can rest easy knowing that it's being done by MTV. It'll probably only air on the channel some Friday night and not even get a theatrical release. In any case, the only people who would even care about The Rocky Horror Picture Show in any form aren't mainstream scum, they're the kind of people who would actually value the original for what it is, so I don't think there's anything to worry about here. This remake has inevitable epic fail written all over it.
