Yeah, I got some!

HURUO NAKAJIMA: http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i182/ ... G_3147.jpg - Mr. Nakajima and Robert Scott Field during Nakajima's session

DON FRYE:
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i182/ ... G_3151.jpg - this was his session, where he talked about his experience on working on GFW

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i182/ ... G_3152.jpg

the lighting was weird in the ballroom. I wish I could have gotten a pic with Nakajima, but my dad and step mom had the camera(they went to downtown Chicago) during the autograph session. It's alright though. Not many can say they've personally met Nakajima.

Unfortunately, the Pickwick's Samsung DVD player couldn't go past the layer change on Biollante, which upset a couple of fans:

But, the rest of fandom had a great time with Mr. Nakajima:

Did JD announce which weekend it will be next year? I had to leave before the G-Fan / G-Fest thread at the end. My wifes family literally plans their summer vacation a year in advance and it always battles with G-Fest. They will be deciding on the date in about 2 weeks, so if I know when G-Fest is now I can get them to NOT place the vacation on that weekend.

I had to leave before this session, but does anyone know what Robert Scott Field said about the "future of Godzilla" session? Thanks.

I just got home about a half hour ago. Next year's will also be held Independence Day weekend.

No, there are no plans to move the convention. The hotel is going to undergo remodeling next spring, so it may not be recognizable.

All conventions have their snafus, we're no different. We had a meeting after the convention ended and went over what went right and what did not.

The problem with Biollante was the theater's fault this time. They have a Samsung player and some video experts have told us (after the fact) that Samsung is notorious for having problems with dual-layered discs. We had three back-ups and all had the same problem with the theater's machine but they all worked fine on the machines of Jeff Horne and John Schuerman. We should have had a back-up machine there, obviously.

I'll defer to Jeff Horne to answer questions in detail, if he chooses.

The only other problem was Godzilla Zero Hour and I don't know what happened there. The principals will have to be the ones to address that.

I was very pleased at the outpouring of affection for Mr. Nakajima at the luncheon (and the convention in general). If there was ever a man who deserved the "Mangled Skyscaper," he's the one. I am glad we were able to present it to him as he's still well enough to enjoy it.

All you attendees were great! :)

I just want to thank all those who volunteer for G-Fest. This was my second time going and I look forward to attending next year as well. As one who is involved in putting on conferences, I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.....from the smallest to the largest detail. Thanks again to JD and all those who put on a great family friendly convention!

Well this was my second G-Fest and I loved it! The first one I was one of the people that came on Saturday for half day and left. This year I spent 3 full days enjoying all there was to offer... or most of it. Since I brought my Godzilla costume I spent most of the time hanging out with fellow costumers like Dawn, Krys, Jen, Tristian and of course Paul on the first floor. It's kinda corny, but it's really nice to find people that have a passion for the same thing that you do... building complex and detailed costumes!

Oh, and for all the people that went to Biollante here is an image you won't soon forget ;-)

Image

Oh, and for the record I tired to persuade a kid behind me to run up on stage with his Biollante plush doll 5 minutes before those other guys did! He would have been a star... oh well. Hehee
