The dub itself isn't too bad. Kobayashi has a Barney Rubble voice (as Steve Ryfle puts it), and one or two strange lines pop up, like "Oh, banana oil!" but overall the dub is tolerable. Of course, maybe I am just used to the English version by now. The only dubs I can't stand are the international tracks of the '90s films and up (Godzilla vs. Hedorah is hard to watch dubbed as well, since I'm so used to AIP's great dub).

And speaking of dubs, the one other thing that disappointed me about the Japanese version of Ghidorah was that the Twin Fairies didn't comment on Godzilla's "terrible language." :)

actually, since the Flintstones came out well after GIGANTIS, Barney has a Kobayashi voice! i prefer GIGANTIS as well, since neither are great movies. there's not a terrible dub job on any of these movies, though TERROR OF MG is the weakest, since it's an HK dub.

So I'm guessing that sooner or later I might as well pick up Godzilla Raids Again then

(shrugs).

I own all the DVDs already but I bought the box set for my dad for Christmas. Great packaging, now I have no idea who to give these extra movies to lol.

I caved. I completely caved.

I was in Best Buy today to pick up the new Futurama movie when the box set ended up staring me right in the face. I ended up buying it. I'll figure out what to do with the individual DVDs sooner or later.
