I'm unclear on the connection also - I've read in a few places that the name "Ethan Haas" is said in the trailer but I've tried to listen carefully and have yet to hear it.

And even if the name is mentioned in the video the urls [EthanHasswasright and EthanHaas was wrong] aren't exactly a logical jump from hearing the name Ethan Haas. And the surname "Haas" would present it's own phonetic challenges to people looking up more information if one only heard it.

I'm with you Ben - the sites are interesting diversions but there's nothing much to connect them to the Cloverfield movie. Only thing to do now is wait until August 1st to see what else gets shown.

Oh for anyone interested in the puzzles on the EthanHaasWasRight website and gets stuck along the way, I posted a link to a walkthrough for the puzzles - should be at the bottom of the previous page.

While I am interested in this I remember similar teasers about 11 years ago that were well done and we all know what happened then.

I'm interested but I'm not going to get too excited.

You guys have to relax. The internet will make it possible for information to be leaked out and we will all no more about it before it comes out. Then everyone can argue about it before it comes out and be let down because it was not what everyone thought it was going to be about. I can just see this happening.

Wow.....psychologically speaking, I know why this has become huge: people want to find the entire puzzle solved so they can be sure of what it is, because the questions are burning in the back of their mind. I've seen so many posts on the subject, I wouldn't be surprised if some people went insane trying to figure it all out. Paramount's use of viral advertising really works, and based on the spread of this on the 'net, I'm anxious to see what other trick they're gonna pull out next.

This is on the ppulation control spectrum of milking the populace. One one end, we have companies like Disney and their never-ending slew of teeny-bopper "High School Musical" Mafiosos tearing up the airwaves, and on the other, you have "Ethanhasswasright/wrong.com"s and "Cloverfield". They each get the audiences's attention, but harbor A LOT of subconscious thought.

Anyways, enough psychological blabber, I haven't even seen this thing yet(I just HAD to go to the bathroom during this one didn't I?), so I can't really give my view on it....

BTW, to the folks who believe this is Voltron..... :lmfao:

Please stop dreaming. Dreamworks/Paramount will TELL YOU it's Voltron(last I heard, one of them has it, and will release it in 2009-2010) because they don't devote psychological time to special effects blockbusters, and deprive our brains of substance and ideals; in other words, if it is what it is, it'll be all over their advertising. They want you to see it an not actually think about what it is before it happens.

I'm seriously considering this sort of thing for my super sentai film......Though of course, no one's gonna know what it is 'til it hits them.

how much monster

Postby pdg3 » Mon Jul 09, 2007 1:34 pm

I do not know why everyone is going crazy over this. It looks really lame. Godzilla 3D will blow this imposter away as usual. It is an american movie and we (us lamo americans) cant seem to get a big lizard movie right can we ? just look at Gino !! Thank God for Toho for creating the King !! How much monster are we going to actual see for 30 million ? It doesn't seem like much. remember the Balir witch project, not even a shot of the witch !!!

JJ abrams need to visit the Zoo so he can have monkey crapolla poo thrown at him.

Godzilla owens them all Long live the King.
