Hmmmmmmm, I could see this happening:
"Due to the technological costs in installing <insert program name>, which will block the PS3 from allowing the plackback of a game that was not inserted into it first, the PS3's current price tag has been raised by an additional $200."
Seriously though, what Sony said they would do is illegal. What happens if the system breaks? You'd have to rebuy all of your games over again as well. That is good for Sony and the companies, but consumers would not go for it. Ultimately, if Sony were to do that, they are coming right out and saying "We want to go out of business, but need an excuse."
