JET JAGUAR- The Television Series??

Postby Lord Hastur » Wed Aug 10, 2005 4:27 pm

:drool: How cool would this have been!!!

Anyway, I always heard that Jet Jaguar was originally conceived by Toho as a television hero, and he was set to star in his own show. Well, as we all know that never happened and he ended up in Godzilla vs. Megalon instead. So, what happened?

What I mean is, how far along did Toho get with ideas for the series?
Was Jet gonna be a Giant?
How about enemies? Who were the Villians?
Any Scripted episodes?
Who, if anybody was set to star in the show?
Did Toho just use all the ideas for Jet Jaguar in Zone Fighter?

Any footage shot? ..........
Anybody know anything, or is there really nothing to know?

@OtiGoji:

> But... in "The Godzilla Chronicles [...]

The Toho approved THE OFFICIAL GODZILLA COMPENDIUM uses the name "Jet-Jaguar" without exception and states that this name is a trademark of Toho Company Ltd. So, absolutely regardless of him being named "Jet Jagger" in some Japanese books, "Jet-Jaguar" is correct. Of course you may continue to call him "Jet Jagger" if you wish to, but (as a simple Google search easily reveals) "Jet-Jaguar" is by far more popular and there is no sensible reason whatsoever not to use it like the rest of us.

By the way, his real name is King Kong. :D
