I wouldn't be surprised if more alamo's show this from time to time. I know the one near me has held several additional Attack on Titan screenings since its original theatrical run.

Whoa, that's news to me. The Mason Road location is much closer to me, but Vintage Park was so much nicer we'd take the trouble to make the drive on occasion.

But googling, looks like it's not such terrible news after all... they sold the vintage park theater to another chain, but are opening FOUR new locations around Houston over the next few years. The first is going to be in Sugar Land, which while farther than mason road, is still closer than vintage park was.

^What's the deal with the rerelease numbers for '62-'67? Were those for the Champion festival or something else?

For those of you that hated Godzilla's look in this movie... consider yourselves lucky cause this was concept art for the movie...

btw, that art seems to be showing something spoken of but not seen in Shin Godzilla: the idea of Godzilla reproducing by dividing.

Spoiler Below:
I think it's depicting Godzilla with a vestigial twin, an early version of the idea that eventually became "tailface." It looks like they considered putting that face on Godzilla's shoulder or the back of his head.

Maser Patrol's news recap gives the lowdown on Shin Godzilla's (and several members of the film's cast in character) appearance in a popular New Year's broadcast:

Just like in the film, it was the musical guests who stopped Godzilla's rampage (spoiler!)

Shin Godzilla will be screening at the Frightfest horror movie festival in Glasgow on 24th February. They're billing this as the European premiere.

http://www.frightfest.co.uk/2017films/phone/index.html

https://www.dreadcentral.com/news/20686 ... t-glasgow/

Their listing ends with the acknowledgement, "Thanks to Altitude Films." I guess that's the UK distributor for the movie.

EDIT: I've emailed Altitude Films to ask if they can confirm any plans for a wider release of the movie.

Hopefully we get some word on a UK release sometime fairly soonish then. It'd be nice to be able to see it sometime this year....

SciFI Japan has info and media regarding Shin Godzilla's theatrical run in Spain, which has been going on since January 20 as part of a tour that includes four other international sci-fi/horror films.

I'm starting to think the EU referendum had some unpublicised small print about also cancelling the UK release for this movie.

Also, I didn't hear back from Altitude Films. Hardly surprising, since it was unlikely they'd reveal previously unnanounced details to some random person, but it was lame of them to not even respond with a "can't confirm or deny" or "nothing to share at this time".

Dropping the pound into the toilet is one thing, but if that vote messed up our only chance of getting a new Godzilla film since the 90's then I say it really is time to be done with this whole "democracy" thing and just restart everything from scratch!

ANN:
Producer: Hideaki Anno is Working on His Next Project
Shin Godzilla executive producer Akihiro Yamauchi appeared at the Kinema Jumpo awards ceremony on Sunday to accept the award for Best Scriptwriter on behalf of Hideaki Anno. At the ceremony, he mentioned that Anno is already working on his next project. His statement is as follows:

I'm sorry to those who hoped to see Director Anno! Director Anno is a man of few words, so all he had to say was "thank you very much." He puts all his heart into his work, so please see it two or three times. He is already working on his next project.
Anno commented last July that he felt he could continue working on Evangelion now that he has finished directing Shin Godzilla, and apologized for the delay in the fourth and final film. Animation director Takeshi Honda mentioned in an interview in November that the Evangelion team was at work on the new film.

Anno has also mentioned that he would like to do a sequel to Shin Godzilla.

I wonder if the unprecedented success of Shin might impede the developement of further movies? I mean, they might have to deal with popular critical and fan pressure to wait until Anno is available again, to direct or at least have some participation.
