Toho and GKIDS have provided Japanese and English press materials for their upcoming JUJUTSU KAISEN compilation film. Toho will open JUJUTSU KAISEN: THE MOVIE – SHIBUYA INCIDENT SPECIAL EDITION × CULLING GAME ADVANCE SCREENING (劇場版 呪術廻戦「渋谷事変 特別編集版」×「死滅回游 先行上映」, Gekijō-ban Jujutsu Kaisen: "Shibuya Jihen Tokubetsu Henshūban" × "Shimetsu Kaiyū Senkō Jōei") in Japanese cinemas this Friday, November 7th. The movie will then be released outside Japan with the title JUJUTSU KAISEN: EXECUTION, with GKIDS bringing it to North America while Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures are handling the international release.
JUJUTSU KAISEN: EXECUTION will debut in North America with a one-night-only Early Access Fan Event exclusive to IMAX theatres on December 3rd. The nationwide theatrical rollout kicks off December 5th with GKIDS screening both the original Japanese and English dubbed versions of the film.
Earlier this year, GKIDS released JUJUTSU KAISEN: HIDDEN INVENTORY / PREMATURE DEATH – THE MOVIE (呪術廻戦 懐玉・玉折, Jujutsu Kaisen: Kaigyoku・Gyokusetsu, 2025) in North America, grossing $3.25 million. JUJUTSU KAISEN: HIDDEN INVENTORY / PREMATURE DEATH – THE MOVIE was the first new release from the JUJUTSU KAISEN property since the end of the series’ second season, and the first theatrical feature from the franchise since JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 (劇場版 呪術廻戦 0, Gekijō-ban Jujutsu Kaisen Zero, 2021) which grossed over $188 million globally. JUJUTSU KAISEN: EXECUTION will be GKIDS’ second release of a JUJUTSU KAISEN title, and is the latest theatrical release from the JUJUTSU KAISEN property, featuring the debut of all new content from the upcoming Season 3.

The spectacular story revolving around curses begins anew in theaters with JUJUTSU KAISEN: EXECUTION!!
Jujutsu Kaisen, the smash-hit manga by Gege Akutami, depicted the battle between curses born from human negative emotions and the jujutsu sorcerers who purge them. Serialized in Shueisha's magazine Weekly Shonen Jump beginning March 2018, the story concluded in September 2024, ending a six-and-a-half-year run. The series has surpassed an astonishing 100 million copies in cumulative sales (including digital editions).
The JUJUTSU KAISEN anime series, produced by TOHO animation, animated by the legendary MAPPA studio, first aired in October 2020. It has since become a true global and pop culture phenomenon. The wildly popular series wrapped up its second season, “Shibuya Incident,” in December 2023, and was awarded “Anime of the Year” at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, among many other prizes. The long-awaited third season, “The Culling Game Part 1,” will air in Japan and stream on Crunchyroll starting in January 2026.
Ahead of the broadcast of the anime's third season, the theatrical release JUJUTSU KAISEN: EXECUTION will connect the directly linked episodes of the “Shibuya Incident” and “The Culling Game,” transforming them into a new story into a new experience crafted specially for the big screen. Furthermore, the film's music has been remixed into 5.1ch surround sound optimized for the theater environment, creating a spectacular cinematic experience worthy of the big screen.
In “The Culling Game,” the Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu—the protagonist of JUJUTSU KAISEN 0—finally enters the fray. Appointed by the higher ups of the jujutsu world as Yuji Itadori’s executioner, Yuta must turn his blade on Yuji. The highly anticipated battle between Satoru Gojo’s two beloved students now unfolds on the big screen.

■ Film Synopsis
October 31, 2018...
A veil abruptly descends over the busy Shibuya area amid the bustling Halloween crowds, trapping countless civilians inside. Satoru Gojo, the modern world's strongest jujutsu sorcerer, steps into the chaos. But lying in wait are curse users and spirits scheming to seal him away.
Yuji Itadori, accompanied by his classmates and other top-tier jujutsu sorcerers, enters the fray in an unprecedented clash of curses — the Shibuya Incident.
In the aftermath, ten colonies across Japan are transformed into dens of curses in a plan orchestrated by Noritoshi Kamo, the most wicked sorcerer in history. As the deadly Culling Game starts, Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu is assigned to carry out Yuji’s execution for his perceived crimes.
The desperate confrontation between Satoru Gojo’s two beloved students comes to the big screen with an early preview. Be the first to experience Yuji and Yuta’s fateful battle with the hotly anticipated kickoff to Season 3 in theatres worldwide.
