    STORY

The worst "murderous teacher" in history, who threatened his student by saying, "I'll show you how to die"...

In 2003, elementary school teacher Seiichi Yabushita (Go Ayano) was accused by a parent, Ritsuko Himuro (Kou Shibasaki), of physically abusing his student and her son, Takuto Himuro (Kira Miura), as corporal punishment. The content of the abuse was unbearable to listen to, even though it was called corporal punishment.

Weekly Shunpo reporter Michihiko Narumi (Kazuya Kamenashi) got wind of this and decided to "report the case with real names,"  revealing the teacheri by name in the article. The article, filled with extreme language, shocked the nation, and Yabushita became a target of the media. Slander, betrayal, suspension...  one after another, these attacks push Yabushita down into bottomless pit of despair.

Meanwhile, there were many voices defending Ritsuko, and a legal team of 550 people was formed to support in an unprecedented civil lawsuit. Everyone was hoping for and confident that Ritsuko's side would win the trial, but what Yabushita said in court was a complete denial that "it was all a groundless fabrication."

This is a story based on the truth, but one that will make you doubt the truth.
