Sony Reports Crunchyroll/Sony Pictures’ DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA INFINITY CASTLE (劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限城編, Gekijō-ban `Kimetsu no Yaiba' Mugen-jō Hen) took the top spot at the North American box office for the weekend of September 12-14, 2025. The movie earned an impressive $70 million from 3,315 locations for a PTA of $21,116. The numbers were announced by the theatrical measurement service, Comscore. As the trusted official standard for real-time worldwide box office reporting, Comscore provides the only theater-level reporting in the world.
The film continues its meteoric run as it sets a new mark for the biggest anime opening of all time with a $132.1 million weekend as Crunchyroll/Sony expanded into North America and 49 international markets to push the studio’s global take to $177.8 million. In North America, it bumped last week's top movie, THE CONJURING: LAST RITES, to 2nd place, and dominated this weekend's other wide new releases, including Focus Features’ DOWNTON ABBEY: THE GRAND FINALE (3rd place/$18.1 million) and Lionsgate’s THE LONG WALK (4th place/$11.5 million).
DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA INFINITY CASTLE is the first feature film in the three-part cinematic trilogy representing the final battle of the hugely popular, award-winning anime shonen series from famed animation studio ufotable.
