While the popularity of its films has never waned over its 35-year history, Studio Ghibli is now enjoying a major resurgence as mainstream audiences everywhere experience its films for the first time — digitally. To address fan and collector demand, BANDAI NAMCO Collectibles (Bluefin), a BANDAI NAMCO Group company and the master distributor of officially licensed Studio Ghibli merchandise in North America, announced plans to offer exclusive limited-time and limited-run product for the first time ever in North America via its direct-to-consumer website BluefinBrands.com.

Today’s announcement is accompanied by Bluefin’s first such exclusive release — the Mehve Glider & Nausicaä Set (Full Action Ver.). Based on Hayao Miyazaki’s 1984 film NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND (風の谷のナウシカ, Kaze no Tani no Naushika), this highly-sought-after figure set was originally released last October and only available for sale in Japan via pre-order from Premium Bandai. The Mehve Glider & Nausicaä Set is part of Bandai’s Souzou Galleria series, a collection of elaborate desktop models that reproduce the unique world of Studio Ghibli works, and features a poseable figure and transformable glider with built-in light feature. Fans are encouraged to act quickly. A very limited quantity of the Mehve Glider & Nausicaä Set is available. The figure set will not be restocked once it sells out.

Bluefin manages a continuously expanding catalog of Studio Ghibli merchandise and currently distributes more than 250 licensed items ranging from accessories, crafts, puzzles, toys and collectibles to drinkware, bento boxes and towels based on a variety of Studio Ghibli properties including MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, SPIRITED AWAY and PRINCESS MONONOKE In addition to growing its product catalog, Bluefin is also committed to making officially licensed merchandise accessible to consumers everywhere through its extensive network online and brick and motor dealers – including major retailers like Barnes & Noble as well independent pop culture stores. As part of this strategy, just two months ago, the company successfully launched “Studio Ghibli Via Bluefin,” which has quickly become the go-to storefront for officially licensed Studio Ghibli merchandise on Amazon. Retailers interested in offering officially licensed Studio Ghibli products can visit BluefinCorp.com for dealer information.
