VINTAGE MONSTERS FESTIVAL in Hamburg, Germany Starts May 7th

Three Days of Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Horror Movies Official Site: http://www.vintagemonsters.de/festival.php (Germany) Special Thanks to Ralf Lorenz

Classic monsters and heroes return to the big screen in Germany with the VINTAGE MONSTERS FESTIVAL, running May 7-9, 2010 in Hamburg. Event organizers Ralf Lorenz (GUALAGON, Pranke: Das Filmmagazin für Monsterfreaks) and Andreas Schiefler (Vintage Movie Posters) will be screening 35mm prints of the German language versions of nine fan favorites at the Metropolis Kino, Steindamm 54, 20099 Hamburg, Germany. The following movie list was provided by Ralf Lorenz... Friday, 7th May 2010 -CONAN THE BARBARIAN (1982): The festival starts cine-flexing with two hours of pectoral muscles, swordplay and swirling heads. -GODZILLA VS GIGAN (1972): Our monstrous friends from Japan come over to floor the entire metropolis. This Trash-Classic is one of the most colorful and funniest of the Godzilla series and offers four monsters for the price of one. -THE BLACK PIT OF DR. M (1959): We will close our Friday with Mexican cuisine. THE BLACK PIT OF DR. M is the insiders’ tip of our festival; this super-rare German version of the spooky ghost movie MISTERIOS DE ULTRATUMBA offers wonderful atmospheric scenery reminding of Mario Bava’s style in BLACK SUNDAY in glorious black and white as well as absurd trashy scenes. Saturday, 8th May 2010 -THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM (1961): Saturday starts with the crown prince of horror – Vincent Price – who will be swinging with no one less then Barbara Steel in Roger Corman`s Poe classic. -THE GREEN SLIME (1968): Bond-Girl Lucianna Paluzzi fights against alien monsters in CinemaScope (of course). -ANDY WARHOL`S BLOOD FOR DRACULA (1974): As we don’t want to abstract away from art. -DRACULA VS FRANKENSTEIN (1970): We finish Saturday with our beloved late ‘Hombre Lobo’ Paul Nashy in the fantastic trashy grenade DRACULA VS FRANKENSTEIN. This European answer to PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE offers you the mummy, the werewolf, Karin Dor, Frankenstein’s Monster, Count Dracula and Men from Outer Space. Sunday, 9th May 2010 -TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA (1970): Weren’t you always wanting to taste the blood of Dracula? None other than Christopher Lee, the king of all vampires, offers this elixir of life. -PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES (1965): There are vampires in space as well, so we close the festival with Mario Bava’s cult favorite in all its wonderful and bizarre colors.
