Production Announced for New “Godzilla” Anime Series; Protagonist is a “Boy Possessing Godzilla's Power”

TOHO Animation has announced the production of a new Godzilla anime series, and concept art has been released.
TOHO animationが、「ゴジラ」新作アニメシリーズの制作を発表。コンセプトアートが公開された。
The protagonist of the new anime series is a boy who possesses Godzilla's power—a concept unprecedented in the Godzilla franchise, which spans over 70 years including live-action films. The concept art depicts the boy preparing to unleash a "radiant heat ray" reminiscent of Godzilla. The series is being produced by Orange, the studio behind GODZILLA S.P <SINGULAR POINT> (ゴジラ S.P＜シンギュラポイント＞, Gojira S.P < Shingyura Pointo >), in collaboration with Thai animation studio IGLOO Studio [who produced the 70 YEARS OF GODZILLA: A NEW ROAR IN SOUTHEAST ASIA promotional video and has the Godzilla’s 70th Anniversary: Five Legacies” collectible statue]. Further details such as the title and release date will be announced later.
新作アニメシリーズの主人公は、実写映画も含め70年以上の歴史を持つ「ゴジラ」シリーズでは類を見ない、“ゴジラの力を宿す少年”。コンセプトアートには、ゴジラを彷彿とさせる“放射熱線”を打ち出そうとする少年の姿が描かれた。同作は「ゴジラ S.P＜シンギュラポイント＞」を手がけたオレンジと、タイのアニメーションスタジオ・Igloo Studio（イグルースタジオ）がタッグを組んで制作する。タイトルや公開時期などの情報は、続報を待とう。
This information was announced on stage at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2025, currently being held in Singapore. Keiji Ota, Senior Managing Executive Officer at Toho and Chief Godzilla Officer, commented on stage, “This work marks a first for the Godzilla series, featuring a ‘boy imbued with Godzilla's power,’ and I believe it allows us to explore both the fear and hope of our current era in greater depth."
なおこの情報は、シンガポールで開催中の「Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2025」のステージ上で発表されたもの。ステージでは、東宝の専務執行役員で、チーフ・ゴジラ・オフィサーも務める大田圭二氏が「本作は“ゴジラの力を宿した少年”というシリーズ初となる試みで、いまの時代における恐怖と希望の両面をより深く描けると考えています」とコメントした。
