I'd accept it more if Godzilla was some sort of space monster, rather than a creature mutated by our own nuclear tests. Alien biology or not, he came from Earth, therefore even he has to follow the laws of physics that hold this planet together.
Godzilla is a force to be reckoned with, yes, but here's another force that Godzilla has not realized. Human determination. Yeah, his regenerative abilities, his breath, and any other trick he possesses will allow him to last long in a fight, but sooner or later--that'll fail him.
But on a latter note....SUBS! I mentioned throwing at Godzilla something like the Los Angeles and a good friend of mine asked...
"Who needs a 688 class submarine?"
And then, it got nasty.
"The major surface combatants in the US Navy (Spruance and Arleigh Burke class destroyers and Ticonderoga class crusiers) all carry at least 8 ASROCs. Depending on the load out, these missles are tipped with either a .5 kt nuclear depth charge or a Mk 46 torpedo with a shaped charge warhead."
I'm sorry, Japan doesn't have those do they.....
Small note on the Los Angeles...
"If I've got a Los Angeles up my sleeve, that means that I've got four torpedo tubes loaded with Mk 48 ADCAPs. With maybe 20 reloads (on top of the four warshots I've already got loaded). If I set the torps at 40 knots, I've got a stand off range of roughly 45,000 yards. If I'm feeling particularly vicious, I'll set my torps at 55 knots (making my torps faster than even the legendary Alfas) and fire from around 43,000 yards."
This is the guy who goes in and corrects every weapon technicality mistake I make in Mechagodzilla X Series. You see why Kiryuu is so powerful now.
Unfortunately for Godzilla, my pal here isn't done toying with him....And then, it got ugly...
"If you're having a particularly bad day, I've set out to see in a 688I boat. Which means that on top of my 4 torpedo tubes, I've got a boat with 12 tubes loaded with Tomahawk cruise missiles.
If things are going YOUR way, G, then I'm only carrying the anti-shipping version with a 300 lb shaped charge warhead.
If things are going MY way, then I've waited until you waded ashore and started lauching Tomahawk Block IV Phase II, which are loaded up with cluster bombs anhd "brilliant anti-armor" bomblets."
Yeah, it got really ugly. Teach Godzilla to lay off the sub-sandwitches.
Tell me, can anyone counteract this?
It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
