Favorite kind of movie vampire

After watching Salem's Lot this week, I've been thinking about all the different types of vampires there are in films. I'm focusing on their nature or origin. Here's what I've come up with:

1. Demonic. Just about every God-fearing vampire can be classified here. Superhuman strength, sunlight-allergic, no reflections in mirrors. This is definitely the most used and it's my favorite type. Most people already know what vampire movies can go here (Dracula, Fright Night, Lost Boys, Salem's Lot, From Dusk til Dawn, etc, etc, etc). These guys (or girls) are some of the more savage bloodsuckers around. They creep around in the shadows, fly around and when they're pissed, they get real ugly.

2. Genetic. The more scientific earth-based bloodsuckers that have no connections to hell. Blade and Underworld are probably the best examples. But aren't some of the Blade vampires supernatural in origin?

3. Alien. Matilda May from Lifeforce belongs here. I don't see too much of this species around. I know there's some flicks from the 60's which use these creatures.

Don't forget animals that only feed on blood, like El Chupacabra<sp> there is an actually movie on this beastie, haven't watched it yet but I don't think I want to.

Anyway, the vampires in Underworld have supernatural origins as well as genetic orgins.

As for my fav I like both the gentic and supernatural ones, haven't seen the alien species yet.

I like Blade type Vamires, just make it feel like they really could exist i also like the Reapers from Blade 2 which are a more suped-up versions

Vampires as genetic mutations were just one theme of the quirky movie "The Breed."
It was set in an alternative, Soviet-like America, characterized by red banners, socialist posters, retro technology and fashions, and Orwellian slogans such as "Informing on your enemy makes him your friend." There were only about 4000 vampires in the world, and they were ready to reveal themselves and try peaceful co-existence with the human race (most subsisted on an artificial serum rather than human blood). However, a murderous, rogue vampire tries to sabotage the deal, and it's up to two cops (one human, one vampire, of course) to find the bad guy and save the day.

I thought the SCIFI Original movie CHUPACABRA : DARK SEAS was okay. A fairly good monster with plenty of screen time, an ocean liner as the setting, and lots of gory killings! What more could you ask for? (Well, you could ask for good acting, fewer plotholes, etc. but this was a SCIFI Original, folks).
