Why Godzilla 1984 is so good in terms of SPfx

Last repost for a day in this forum. I promise :D

I think The Return of Godzilla may have had the best its in some subtle and not so subtle ways though. I ask you to think of this and comapre it to the rest of the Heisei series.
1.The planes were great and the best in my opinion since G54. i don't know but when I think of the planes in GvsKg I sort of shudder.

2. The buildings were detailed and quite well. The buildings seemed to really look like Tokyo and the scale didn't seem to out of wack. Rember the buildling falling on the Super X

3. The volcano scene and Godzilla being pulled under. Quite effective.

4. Super X 1 was leaps and bound better then Super X 2 it lasted longer and looked great when firing all the rounds against Godzilla.

5. The explosions its what Nakano did best and he excelled in this film.

6. The composites were better (Godzilla looking down on Tokyo) Much better then most of Kwataia(sp?)

For me Nakano really did a great job in the Return of Godzilla.

This movie was great, especially in it's day. I could never figure out why so many reviews picked on the movie accusing it of containing awful effects. Shots such as the one below made Godzilla seem truely gigantic.

Anyway, Godzilla 84 was a perfect 1980's period piece.

I like the way Godzillas lip goes up and down when he roars [just like my dog].

I liked how he would bust up out of the water in this one.... and they must have made a prop just for those scenes.
