I hope this issue lives up to the hype some have been giving it, because Gfan 67 was the issue ever.

I already wrote an article for G-Fan about the devilfish. I called it "An Odako Appreciation"

J.D Lees refused to use my original title of "The Odako. Greatest monster of the 20th century or any other century"

He thinks lesser known monsters that nobody cares about such as Godzilla, King Kong, Frankenstein, WolfMan, Dracula and similar johnny come lately monsters are greater than the Odako, making my title inaccurate.

Unbelievable eh? :P

:P Uh, I'm still waiting for the article I submitted to G-fan about the big lizard that the guy swings around in KK vs G to be printed.
It was a good eight to ten pages worth of information about the lizard, and how powerful he was originally intended to be portrayed, but the TOHo staff decided that they didn't want the lizard to take anything away from the other monsters in the film. My article also came complete with photos of the suit from the beginning stages of construction to it's completion. Yeah, many folks always assumed that the lizard
was just a prop, when in reality, the effect was achieved by suitmation.
I also included an interview with the suit actor (A tiny japanese man named Taka, who subsequently was approached by TOHO about reviving the character for it's own feature film, but declined after quote:
"No kaiju should ever be portrayed as evil and destructive as what they had planned for the lizard in this proposed film." "I don't think it's right to scare children in that way".) After not being able to secure Taka-san for the role, TOHO shelved the idea. My article also came complete with many other photo's shot behind the scenes, including unused footage of the lizard engaged in battle with Kong. (Later changed to Kong fighting the octopus). And finally my article ends with a plea for help from anyone in obtaining bits or pieces from the score Ifukube had created for the lizards theme. I'm hoping that this article will see the light of day soon.
