I first saw this film when I was about 7 or 8, and I remember just thinking how truly awesome it was. That beginning on the ship was one of the actual few scary moments in the entire Godzilla series, and it still freaks me out. I really enjoy this film, and would love to see an American DVD of it.

It's my absolute favorite Godzilla movie. I've watched it more than any of the other 26 Japanese Godzilla movies in my collection. I felt it came the closest to matching the terror and the horrorific atmosphere the original 1954 movie created. Everything about the movie (er with the exception of the godzilla suit, but it's ok) is just so right; the music, the characters, the political atmosphere and the ROAR! Godzilla has the best damn roar EVER in this movie.
