Godzilla Pinball from Stern

I coulda sworn I'd made a thread about this a while back... but I guess not!

Stern Pinball's Godzilla cabinet has been out for a couple of years. In fact, a new variant with greyscale artwork was recently released for the 70th anniversary. The cabinet is covered in original artwork based on the Showa Era of Godzilla's friends and foes, and the music, sound effects, and video clips are either Showa material or new material (like CGI monsters and Planet X aliens) that fit the aesthetic and fill in the loose storyline of the game as you play. The Blue Oyster Cult song plays when you get Game Over.

... this is, and this may seem hyperbolic but I think it's true, the best piece of Godzilla merchandise ever created. So rich and full of detail, but also just plain fun. Truthfully, I suck at pinball, but I enjoy playing nonetheless! I keep discovering new features and... uh, levels? Do pinball cabinets have levels? Anyway, beware of activating the Oxygen Destroyer, as it'll cut the game's power unless you quickly diffuse it.

I've seen photos of this pinball machine. It looks really cool! It seems like it was made to look like it was made in the '70s or '80s, from Godzilla's Marvel-esque green color to the original English logo.

I don't know of anywhere nearby where I could try this out. The closest place I can think of that might have one of these is the Cherokee casino over in another county.

^ Thanks! It looks like the nearest place that has one is even further away than I thought!

Alas it doesn't seem like there are any nearer to me than one in London, which I kinda figured might be the case.

This table in all its versions sure looks great though! The CG footage matches really well with the classic clips, the tone reminds me of the intentionally cheesy style they went with for Destroy All Monsters Melee, and it really looks like they put a lot of care and attention to detail into the whole thing. And yeah, this new 70th anniversary colourway looks fantastic!

I'm not sure why it seems like all the tables on their site have warnings saying they use American-style electricity or whatever given that there seem to be several over here according to that tracking site, but yeah, if I had room enough for a pinball machine and a random $10,000 to spare, I'd certainly try to get one!
