If you didn't care for the NES creepypasta, but still think the game itself is odd, you might be interested in this video:
I can confirm the result in the US version of the game is similar, though not exactly the same. I tested a few other variations, changing the last letter, and came upon these other unsettling, unplayable maps (spoilered in case you want to spook yourself one night):
"Available for your home in 1995, only on Nintendo Ultra 64!"
