The new trailer has already blown past the November trailer in Youtube views (currently at 2.7 million) and already has half the views of the Comic-Con trailer from last summer.

I can wait the week. As long as nobody blatantly posts the actual post-credits scene with the description of it in the title (that happened to a couple people already), I will be mostly spoiler-ish free-sorta.

OK. So, without getting all spoilery... how was the movie itself, specifically the NON-monster stuff? Was the film engaging and well-plotted or was it a rambling mess? Good character development? Logical story with satisfying arcs... or just a nonstop explosion CGI-fest for 2hrs? Along that line, do Kong & Co. get decent screentime, or is he a bit player in his own film, ala G'14?

I'm seeing the film regardless, (had my vacation day locked in since beginning of the year), but I just want to know if the entire movie is good & entertaining... or should I lower my expectation and just go for the F/X & monster bits.
