Kong: Skull Island opens in less than a month but all that the entertainment sites, fan blogs, and clickbait articles will be focused on is how much Godzilla appears in the movie and how much it sets up Godzilla vs. Kong. :(

^ Kinda par for the course for these franchise movies, though.

I'm just happy we've already had a high volume of (very cool) advertisements to create awareness for the movie.

--- edit ---

But speaking of that high volume: with so many trailers and TV spots and clips already shown I think I'm gonna start avoiding them. I've had my fill, it looks awesome, and I'd rather just wait for the movie.

Yeah that pic is great. Overall I think Kong's design in this movie looks excellent. They've got just the right amount of humanoid characteristics blended with realistic gorilla features to make him look like an actual monster and his own thing, rather than simply a giant ape, which is definitely my preferred depiction, but also still have him looking like a believable creature at the same time. They've definitely done a really great job with him.

And yeah I'm going to start avoiding new TV spots and clips now too. I watched the one a few posts above, but that's it. There's a "Kong vs Skull Crawler" clip that came out the other day that I'm going to have to hold off on because I really don't want to see any more at this point. I'm actually surprised they're putting them out so early. Usually clips don't start going online until about a week or so before a film's release, not the better part of a month. Now it just makes it even harder to avoid spoiling myself or being spoiled before the film is actually released. :P

In immediate invalidation of my resolution to avoid anything else from this movie: Sci-Fi Japan has just posted the Kong: Skull Island end credits, and there are omega-level spoilers within.

After seeing that, I'm incredibly pumped for this film! Bring it on and yes, I believe I plan to sit through the credits just to be on the safe side.

Also from the credits, and not exactly a spoiler: characters named 'Senator Willis' and 'Secretary O'Brien.'

I'd more or less gone into a media lockdown on this movie. Not looking at articles, stills, trailers, etc anymore. I want to go in as fresh as possible.

But people are A-HOLES and are putting a pretty huge spoiler in the TITLE of their articles. Granted, it's kind of only "potentially" a spoiler...based on the film's credits, but it's crap. It'd be like an article back in 2008, "Nick Fury's Avengers Initiative confirmed for Iron Man Post-Credit" or "What Track Title 'Back to the Ocean' on New Godzilla Movie Means" or "Kevin Spacey Listed as Keyser Sose in Credits". Couldn't people have titled their articles "Possible News for Kong Based on Credits" or something like that? These are HEADLINES...not the articles themselves. UGH.
Gills.

I'm still hopeful that...

The Skull Island site has been updated with some thurough descriptions of some of the monsters. What I have read about them is so wild that I stopped myself from reading more so's I can be surprised in the movie.

I think we're really gonna get our monsters' worth with this one, guys.

I am shutting down as well, as I think I've seen enough.

Someone idiot on YouTube ruined it for me on "The Force Awakens". I am not about to let that happen with this movie.

Another new trailer less than two weeks before it opens in the States? I'm going to wait and see the movie before watching that trailer. It's probably going to spell out a majority of the story beats and give away a lot of money shots.

I couldn't resist. The new trailer does have one or two significant spoilers, as well as expands a few scenes we've already seen a bit of in previous trailers and TV spots. I'm partially sad I gave in... bit it's also the best trailer. IT IS TRULY AWESOME. Vogt-Roberts apparently was inspired by the trailer for The Handmaiden to make a very rhythmic trailer for the film. Watch it at your own risk.

I'm definitely going to avoid any more trailers, tv spots or even posters. It's so sad that these days before you even see a movie you can be so spoiled of important plot elements or major action shots. There's no more surprise anymore when you sit in a theater and watch a movie, you can basically know what the entire thing is about just by watching the trailers. Batman Vs Superman is a perfect example because the second trailer pretty much spoiled the entire movie.

But anyway, I am hoping this movie is a hit, I would love to see future Kong movies after this and after Godzilla Vs Kong. And I know this is wishful thinking, but you never know because none of us expected Godzilla and Kong to ever come together again, but I would love to see a Kong Vs Frankenstein some day. Ive always had a fascination with Willis O'Brian's idea of bringing these two famous monsters together, I think it would make a great future Kong movie. It would also be great to see Obie's dream project come true, even if he's not with us anymore.

So here's hoping for the success of Kong Skull Island :D
