It's just a lower tech version of the Super X shooting cadmium missiles down his throat... It's that kind of idea crossed with simple early Showa era anti-Godzilla attempts like the 'dig a hole and light him on fire' plan in King Kong vs. Godzilla. There's a lot of 'heavy equipment' montages in those films and you can tell Anno loves them based on similar scenes in Evangelion.
Look, at lot of us here haven't seen the movie, so we don't know one way or the other, but if some people would just stop and think for a moment a lot of what we're hearing isn't that out of the ordinary. Being reactionary about every little detail isn't going to make anything better.

While them cooking up a cocktail to freeze Godzilla is somewhat fantastical, I think it's cool that the application is entirely practical.

I mean some parts are not perfect but I was jumping for joy seeing all the boats colliding into each other and the model houses going for a ride.

This movie couldn't come out fast enough. I just want to put this bed.

I want to watch it on a bigger screen before saying for sure but it looks like either they cut the trailer better here to not show off the wonky CGI as much or it's actually gotten a bit better. (Since the really horrible shot of Godzilla from afar getting bombed that was in the one TV thing is in there but just WAY more briefly, I'm going with "cut better" but it's overall more encouraging to me)

I'm wondering when we'll see actual pictures of Kaiju B from the film posted online. Or is the shot I've seen that's a rear view close up of Godzilla's back spikes and head where his eyes are a little big and he has an all-over reddish tint actually Kaiju B, and not the final form?

I know spoiler tags in a spoiler thread seems silly but these are photos featuring Godzilla getting the cadmium pumped in his mouth as well as a possible photo of the tail creatures. Extra spoilery!



That said the Godzilla hybrid thing looks very Geiger-esque and I'm digging it. Also the fire trucks pumping fluid in the mouth doesn't look as ridiculous as I first imagined.

Yeah, I've already been spoiled to kingdom come. I'm not watching that trailer because I don't want to see every Godzilla scene before I see the movie.

I forget if these exact images have been shared but here are some gross close-ups of Godzilla's tail tip -


The tail and back beams reminds me of the end of GMK where Godzilla's ray blasts out of his drilled shoulder. It's like he can't control where his beam will shoot out of if his body's been damaged, and Shin Godzilla has a crispy overheated body to begin with. The only difference here is that he's using these extra beams to his advantage.
