Since I returned to the states, my friends have been asking me what I thought of the film, and I haven't been able to give them a clear answer. I said it's like Circus Peanuts - slightly bizarre, and I'll eat a whole bag and still be unsure if I like them or not.
I definitely want to see it a third time, if that means anything. I think I'm still too much in the "holy crap I got to see a Godzilla movie IN JAPAN" mode to critically analyze the film.

It isn't one of my favorites (and some of my favorites are greatly disliked by many board members here, so, you know, opinions) but it's certainly...captivating? It can't come to the states soon enough.

To be fair, I was prepping myself for it to bad WAY before the reviews. I was readying myself as soon as the name "Anno" was attached to it. And now I'm just sitting here telling people "told you" when they "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" and moan. I KNEW Anno was going to pull stupid "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" with the character. And I was right...

So... Told you.

Just asking a question- has the movie been recorded any available for sale on the streets of Japan? Or even made its way online anywhere? I'm not asking for a link at all just curious if anyone has seen it outside of the theatrical debut. Thanks

We knew a long time ago that Godzilla's mouth split open down the middle (like a vampire from Blade), but here is a pic showing it off:



This is basically a gallery someone posted from his atomic beam attack. I admit the purple is really cool, but I am not a fan of the way his jaw splits.

I really like those! Hopefully, seeing Godzilla in these vulnerable adolescent states gives him a bit of sympathy in the film.

The first form has a very Eel like appearance, specifically in his tail.

Something about his giant eyes are gross.

Sentient space sludge that can dissolve anything? Nope.

... None of the above.

This Godzilla gets killed by... construction equipment.
