Hopefully a lot of the bad blood (which we only ever see a bit of because they're all polite Midwesterners) with the old cast can be dealt with now that they're apparently finally getting royalties for the continued profits earned by the shows they worked on. For years, only Joel and Jim still got money from MST3K, and now that Joel and Shout have essentially bought Jim out things will hopefully bend more towards justice on that front.

At the very beginning of the Kickstarter Joel made a comment about straightening out royalties and getting everyone compensated in a way vaguely related to whether any of the classic cast will return.

--- EDIT ---

J. Elvis Weinstein tweeted a few jokes at the Kickstarter's expense, and it just so happened that he performed on the same bill as Hampton Yount (the new Crow), so they took two pictures to screw with fans:

Joel said at the outset that the old cast members were invited to appear. I don't know what happened with that, and given how Joel was working with the likes of Trace and Frank not that long ago, I don't know what could have changed. Then again, I was wholly unaware of the bad blood between Opie & Anthony until after they split.

I'm not complaining about Seinfeld or Jack Black or Neil Patrick Harris making appearances, I'd just rather see the old cast members do cameos.

I don't know if its really "bad blood" other than creative differences. Joel had his crew doing Cinnematic Titanic, and Mike had his two partners that continue to produce Rifftrax. Mary Jo Pehl (from what I've read), although involved in CT, seems to be the neutral party in all of this. Seeing as how the Rifftrax website now offers MST episodes, as well as S!F continuing to produce DVD's, and everyone it seems getting paid their due, this will hopefully afford an opportunity to see Joel & Mike bury whatever hatchet there is, and appear at some point in the future together, even if off camera at some fan event.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

I've been popping into the MST3K subreddit every now and again, more so since the Kickstarter. There seems to be a lot of twitter drama between them. Trace unfollowed Joel and there's been tons of snark from him, Frank, and Josh. But maybe because they know each other well enough a remark that may seem offensive to us might just be friendly ribbing/riffing with one another.

Regardless, I hope that most of them pop in the new show in some manner. I think having them all show back up for the Christmas Special would be kind of awesome. A big Forester Holiday in the new Deep 13 (or where ever Kinga's lair is going to be).

I'd ask them if they contributed to the Kickstarter and see where that goes.

Great news. Not too keen on the continued 're-riffings,' but Time Chasers is such a classic I don't mind. For Castleton!

Hopefully this bodes well for the 'legacy cast' appearing in the new show.

Wonderful and its on a Tuesday so I can go (these things are usually on Thursdays). Just goes to show... If Guns & Roses can get back together (well sort of...) Then The whole crew of MST3K can. Even if Joel & Mike don't fully bury the hatchet it will be nice to see everyone together.

I'm on the west coast, so I have to wait a little while, but yeah the wife & I will be there tonight. They said show up 30 minuets early (7:30) for fun trivia 8)

Highlights: Frank and Trace's short, which was clearly much more disturbing than the people who made it intended, and the final all-out assault on 'Grass.'

... wait, is corn grass?

That...was amazing. The most fun I've had in a long time. Good to see *nearly* all the cast reunited, and the Barbershop short with Joel & Jonah Ray gives me confidence he will be a worthy successor to Joel & Mike.

The full show:

The Talking Car (Mike, Kevin, Bill)
A Word to the Wives (Bridget & Mary Jo)
More Dates for Kay (Frank and Trace)
Shake Hands with Danger (Mike, Kevin, & Bill)
Barbershop/Beauty Salon short (Joel & Jonah)
*acknowledgements and Rifftrax clips from the last 10 years*
Stamp Day for Superman (All)
At Your Fingertips: Grasses (All)

Also the next live event is August 18th -Mothra

That was pretty damn sweet. Agreed that Trace and Frank had the best segment. This was my first time hearing the still-beautiful Bridget riffing, and Jonah gave us a glimpse of what's in store for the reboot.

Filled out my form for the Kickstarter rewards. This was a pretty sweet deal of a Kickstarter, as my $75 donation gets me a pretty nice pile of swag.

Netflix is the new home of MST3K!

Mary Jo, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy are confirmed to appear! Pearl is kinda obvious (in a good way) as she's the Forrester matriarch and the lead Mad here is a Forrester, but I wonder if Kevin and Bill will appear as Bobo and Brain Guy or Tom and Crow pre-voice change? Heck, I see no reason they couldn't do both!

The AV club clarifies: Mary Jo, Bill, and Kevin will return as the late-series Mads. Mary Jo and Bill will also be writers on the new show!

http://www.avclub.com/article/mystery-s ... deb-240027

They better contrive a reason to get Pearl to riff a whole film. Cinematic Titanic and the Rifftrax reunion convinced me that she's a seriously underutilized genius riffer.

More power to Kevin if, after almost 20 years, he's agreed to dress up as Bobo again. Looking forward to it.

Maybe the most exciting thing about the new show is the large pool of fantastic writers they have.

Honestly, I'm almost in danger of becoming numb to all the awesome stuff going on with the things I'm into. The Japanese Godzilla film has a confirmed US theatrical release in a few months, then a day or two later it's: here's an awesome trailer for the new King Kong movie - oh, and season 11 of MST3K premiers on Netflix early next year! Here are the confirmed returning cast members for that!

I can only handle so much! I'm used to this being cult stuff that's in the past!
