^I think the multiple forms rumor was debunked. Even if it weren't, the persistence of using this look for Godzilla in every piece of marketing/crossover/toy would have me thinking it's false.

I'm crossing my fingers for a FW style montage where ShinG wrecks CG renditions of all his past foes.

That video is promoting the IMAX experience. When Higuchi says "something big," I think he means that very literally. About an hour into the movie, there will be a scene that really plays up the large-format angle, something really big in scope, a scene that will have people in the IMAX theaters shitting their pants. I wouldn't necessarily expect another kaiju.

The new Godzilla looks terrific in both of those pictures! That first one especially looks great.

Only two weeks to G-Day...hope we see a big push soon! I'm in rural Sano, Tochigi, and our local Aeon Mall just got a huge Shin-Godzilla display in the main area...hopefully it's not too little, too late. Very cool, though.

For me the coolest thing about this movie is just how little we know...how little I know...I'll be going to see this on the 29th with no idea what's going to happen. That's very, very rare these days. And very cool!

Man. That's s great shot. If Higuchi managed to attain shots like that consistently on his budget... well, I'll be damned impressed!

However the movie ends up being received by audiences, it already has some great cinematography.

I guess it's my turn to be negative. Both of those stills look really bad. I can't stand the piss-colored filter they're using, and the helicopters and smoke surrounding Godzilla look like absolute bottom-grade CGI.

Normally I hate constant, obvious color filters, but I love the sickly yellow hue they've gone with for this movie. I've been digging it since the first trailer.

The yellow of movies like Superman Returns and Batman Begins put me off, but this is subdued enough that it works. It's just slightly unsettling.

I don't know if I agree with the CGI being that bad. Sure it is between 3rd and 2nd rate (only talking about still pictures haven't seen it in motion yet) but bottom of the barrel seems like a strong statement. I don't think this is absurdly bad that it is going to join the ranks of Sharknado and Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.

I can safely say that one shot during the trailer of the helicopters flying by definitely did not sit well with me. However when I saw this image nothing shot out at me as unflattering. I'd say the PoV shot was a lot more unflattering than this one. Lack of texture and detail compared to the helicopter image.

I hate how much I hate that. I wish I could think it looks good like you guys. But it's ugly, has obvious (read: bad) CGI, and it's the same pose we've seen this Godzilla in EVERYTHING. Not dynamic at all.

<sigh> I hope the plot is good and the characters and atmosphere make up for it looking like crap.
