People just like to make stuff up. Remember when G'14 was coming out, th spoilers were saying that Sandra Brody turned into one of the MUTOs and everyone believed it?

If it's not from a reliable source with connections in Japan (i.e. Bob, Norman, etc), I don't believe it. But apparently I'm in the minority, considering how much fake stuff swirls around each time a new Godzilla movie comes out.

Huh. As rumors go it was easy to believe because the explanation for how these people knew this thing was so straightforward.

^ It's a weird dichotomy: on the one hand we're seeing Godzilla emblazoned on jets, statues in public places, dozens and dozens of advertising tie-ins - and on the other hand we have you and others saying there's just not an awareness among average folk.

That being said, it seems ads have revved up in this past week or so, so hopefully that's changing.

There are a couple of Godzilla whiskey tasting events - I'm going to try to go to the one on the 23rd and see if they have any bottles for sale. Or any posters. Or at the very least, take a picture and taste some whiskey.

To be fair I don't think anyone claimed the beam was actually fired, merely that a purple glow was shown as Godzilla was powering it up.

It's really interesting to see reactions to this movie differ depending on the site you visit. Over a Tumblr the fan base for the most part seems excited and supportive of the movie. Over here you'd think the worst movie ever made was about to be unleashed upon an innocent public.

I know you can't make everyone happy but there's no way this'll be another Final Wars-level disaster. I'm thinking we'll see something on par with 2014, perhaps a bit more focused with the story mainly revolving around Godzilla.

From the beginning the movie has seemed, to me at least, a reaction towards the 2014 film. Trailers for that film suggested a God of Destruction take on the character, then we got more or less what we've seen since 1984, an indifferent force of nature. But with Resurgence Anno, Higuchi and co. are like, "You wanna see a God of Destruction? We'll give you one!" And I'm quite excited for that.

Purple represents royalty? That'd give an even more impressive imagery to Godzilla if he radiates purple, though personally I've always wanted to see a green ray.

One new picture from the art book and a colored maquette or whatever I am too lazy to sift through google translate right now. To be honest I found this by accident because I was looking at a busty asian chicks cleavage and saw this in the top right hand corner.
