Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows Teaser

Official full trailer released

I went in to the first movie fully expecting to hate it. I came out not angry. Now this trailer looks fun. I feel dirty. What makes this funny is that I claimed the new Godzilla design looked like Krang just earlier today.

This film probably won't be good, but it might be a lot of fun - like I hoped the first one would be. I mean, that first one was an unmitigated disaster on all levels, so this one can't help but be better. With a largely new cast and a largely different crew it seems like a partial reboot, at least on a creative level.

And the TMNT's designs have been tweaked! They're not as huge and hulking, and the grotesque and busy elements have been subtly streamlined. The big, fleshly lips are gone.

The first one was a huge clusterfudge because they couldn't decide on following their own (admittingly terrible) vision, or follow the source material. You can tell the movie was butchered to hell. This one seems to be bringing a lot of what fans want to see.

I'm somewhat hopeful this can at least be a coherent movie, and maybe be fun...I'll just leave it at that.

I'm not expecting much but it seems like we might be getting Dimension X. So there's that.

You know... I refrained from going to see the first film in theaters because I thought it was going to be a *grimdark* version of the Turtles, however upon renting it, not only did I enjoy it, my kids did also. I was a teenager when the original trilogy of films came out. The first was good, but I'm sorry II & III are unwatchable to me to this day. This new film had pretty much the right mix of action and comedy, not to much one way or the other, so I am actually looking forward to the sequel. Sure they may not have gotten Shredder right, but it appears this sequel will attempt to fix some of that. Plus Finally Beebop & Rocksteady-characters the fans have been asking for since they were replaced by two other characters in that gawd awful sequel with Vanilla Ice.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

^ I would not have recognized her based on the pictures alone, but the article kind of gives it away. I think its cool when studios do that. DC has done this a lot with their superhero based TV shows, rehiring actors who played parts (or similar parts) on pervious versions.

You know what? This looks kind of fun. I mean it's Bebop, Rocksteady, and Krang. If they just kind of ignore the first one and let this play out, totally don't bring up that Splinter self taught himself and the turtles the art of the ninja from flushed sewer magazines instead of from the years mimicking Hamato Yoshi or that they had no previous connection to Oroku Saki and the Foot Clan, it might be pretty fun.

^ They could always pull out the backstory from the current IDW comics, where Splinter and the turtles are the reincarnations of Hamato Yoshi and his four sons, who lived in (I think) feudal Japan.

The only thing I didn't like about the reboot was Splinter's hideous design. Sure, the new back-story was nonsense, but Ninja Turtles back-stories have always been nonsense. As long as they don't get bogged down in further back-story exposition, and just focus on fast-paced adventures instead, I'm fine with this being an ongoing movie series for now.

Early reviews (take with a grain of salt) is that this movie is in every way better than the last one. Early impressions tend to be positive for a lot of movies though.

I'm expecting a G.I. Joe RETALiation situation, in which its a bit closer to what I like about the subject matter but it's still not very good.
